2015 Fashion Forecast…What to Look Forward to in the New Year

There is so much fabulous fashion to look forward to in 2015! While I don’t believe we’ll see the end of the crush of Kardashion “news” (wishful thinking), I do think we’ll have plenty of actual fashion to wait for.

I can’t wait to see more from Amal Clooney. The new Mrs Clooney wowed us in her custom designed Oscar de la Renta wedding dress and continued to make our jaws drop with amazing outfits that made us wish we could peek inside her closet. What is she going to wear in 2015? I’m sure it will be spectacular!

Lupita Nyong’o burst onto the fashion scene after a gut wrenching, award winning performance as Patsey, a young slave tortured by her owner in 12 Years a Slave. Her next role will take her to a galaxy far, far away. That’s right. Star Wars! Star Wars: Episode VII to be exact. After her beautiful looks on last year’s red carpets, it’s safe to say her 2015 wardrobe will be out of this world.

As award season approaches, the Golden Globes are coming up this month, it will be a bitter sweet time for fashionistas. We’ll see Oscar de la Renta’s designs on the red carpet, but we will miss the designer who dressed everyone from Jackie Kennedy to Oprah to Sarah Jessica Parker.

De la Renta passed away earlier this year after a long battle with cancer. But let’s look forward to seeing his beautiful, stunning creations light up the red carpet and continue to live on in his absence.

John Galliano is back. And he’s returning with a bang. He was hired as the Creative Director at Maison Martin Margiela this year and his first collection will be the Margiela Couture collection in January.

Galliano has been in fashion limbo since he was fired from Dior and his own label in 2011. He briefly worked with Oscar de la Renta and rumors swirled that Galliano would take the helm of de la Renta’s fashion empire.

Galliano always puts on a fun and well…interesting…fashion show. And for him to start his tenure at Margiela with Couture?! Definitely something to watch!

As for me? I’m looking forward to a full fashion calendar for the new year! I’m starting with a trip to the new Chanel store in Boston. 10,000 square feet of fabulous designed by architect Peter Marino who created their London location.

Then it’s on to the Museum of Fine Arts where I will check out the new exhibit, Hollywood Glamour: Fashion and Jewelry from the Silver Screen. The curator paired vintage jewelry with the dresses the baubles were worn with in movies from the 1930’s and 1940’s
